I watched a series recently called "Colony" and while not exactly thought-provoking, it had some interesting similarities to the current scamdemic world, even though it was produced some years ago.

I personally enjoyed Elementary (Sherlock Holmes TV series) a lot. It's not educational, but it's brainier than pretty much all of TV and made for an excellent watch.
