Guns and body armor are so useful that it makes zero sense not to use them, even if you have powers. Versatility, range, protection, all fairly light weight for people as fit as comic characters.
Because guns are objectively superior to most powers, and not wearing armor is so irresponsible that police can be punished for failing to do so (it makes your a liability), that means most fights that aren't between Hulk characters would become a gun fight between armoured people. But not ordinary shootouts, there are tons of creative tactics thinking that could go into that fights, utilizing powers, super armor, super guns and ordinary small arms together.
I like this, I prefer more logic in superhero comics (fantastic elements are worthless if the author can't integrate it believably into the mundane, “rule of cool” shit is for low IQ people with poor critical faculties who are too ignorant to even know what's wrong) but the legacy fan boys would cry if Punisher was Batman (Azrael is better than Batman).
And it's stupid how Progressive writer faggots always turn this into IF YOU USE GUNS/KILL YOU ALWAYS BECOME A TERRORIST DICTATOR MASS MURDERER. That story meme in comics only exists because
1) gun fearing shitlibs with egalitarian fantasies who hate to admit that elites are inevitable and if the good guys don't lay down the last the bad guys will, and that shooting violent criminals is heroic.
2) The above people having no grasp of real tactics or combat, making them incapable of any battle scene more involved than some retarded chaos like 300.
3) As always, normies who will eat shit and grin if it's got some corporate trademark on it, and cannot appreciate good writing as against trash.
There has been a gradual creep of firearms and lethal force in comics and especially comic movies. It's almost the opposite problem with the gun/gadget characters and lethal superheroes, in that it's doesn't make sense for them to not use flying robot armor and gamma lasers instead of handguns, as this stuff could easily be made by many of them, or stolen from the many villains.
In general it annoys me how there is zero progress in the world, the Super tech and powers don't cause mass revolts, new political and religious movements, and a restructuring of the economy (which they obviously would). Sometimes alluded to but never allowed to really kick off because the gravy train of selling merch to KONSUUMURZ relies on repackaging the same boring apocalypse event over and over.
This is why the Elseworlds books are better, because SHIT ACTUALLY HAPPENS, instead of everything remaining a shitty double of our Earth (I don't give a shit about relatability standards of normies, I read hard science fiction and my favorite hero is Superman) but it's always got to turn out terrible to rationalize why the boring go nowhere main universe is actually the best of all worlds. But we all know the best world is the one where Superman takes over the world, fuck the leftist cowards who fear men and authority.
It's basically impossible to find any long run comic that's not written by a leftist and full of tedious cliches.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
