I guess Robert Maxwell owned Macmillan Publishing Inc, which owned Conde Nast. edit: this part is not true

And Swartz left the project just a couple months after it was bought by Conde Nast.

edit: After further research, Conde Nast is owned by the Vanderbilts, and not the Maxwells. So this post is false. But the Maxwells do own the textbook manufacturer Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, which is possibly where the maxwellhill name comes from
