Maxwell again put all his energy into business, successively buying the British Printing Corporation, Mirror Group Newspapers and Macmillan Publishers, among other publishing companies.

On October 31, 2006, Condé Nast acquired the content aggregation site Reddit,[16] which was later spun off as a wholly owned subsidiary in September 2011.

Although I can't find that Macmillan publishing owned conde nast, I had previously read that somewhere but I guess it was incorrect. However the CEO is a Vanderbilt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cond%C3%A9_Nast

Although it appears Maxwell/McGraw-Hill, who makes probably 70% of US textbooks, was owned by maxwell as well:

Macmillan's school publishing operations were merged into a joint operation with McGraw-Hill in 1989. McGraw-Hill acquired full ownership of Macmillan/McGraw-Hill in 1993 after Maxwell's death.[30]
