Correction: Macmillan publishing does not own conde nast, so Maxwell does not own reddit. However the CEO of conde nast is a Vanderbilt: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cond%C3%A9_Nast

And it appears Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, who makes probably 70% of US textbooks, was owned by maxwell as well:

Macmillan's school publishing operations were merged into a joint operation with McGraw-Hill in 1989. McGraw-Hill acquired full ownership of Macmillan/McGraw-Hill in 1993 after Maxwell's death.[30]
