I'm reading that as sarcasm, because we all know by now (I hope) that in the SJW mind phrases like "Straight Pride" equate to "Anti Gay". So why do we have to have this argument? If that were the case they wouldn't put it on display because of the lingering fear of getting murdered.

People who at some point actually expected to be murdered or suffer physical harm would remember it and wouldn't expect the people who would have threatened them to magically change.

That's what happens in the movie, Dorothy kills the witch. There has been a long long time since it was illegal to be gay, and the people that actually had to deal with that law are generally not the ones on the parade. So they certainly not celebrating the danger is gone for the majority of people who do parades didn't have that danger upon them.
