Seems legit, doesn't it? Things have changed a lot. So clearly, it is real, right?
Well… not quite.
The original post is https://reddit.com/comments/bfs2es. According to the comments of the post, the comments of https://reddit.com/comments/b7rle4, and https://www.christianaslund.com/glacier-retreat, this was in Svalbard, Norway. More relevent to the falshood though, the "2019" photo was apparently taken in summer, while the "1919" was apparently taken in winter. This is clearly not solely the result of the change in seasons, but it could easily make this past change look worse than it really is, if not for, well…
The smoking gun here, is that the last photo was allegadly taken in 2019. If that's the case, however, how could the exact same photo be uploaded in 2018? Apparently, the last photo was actually taken in 2002.
Climate change is obviously real, but sometimes, memes and propaganda about it are not so real.
