A system where the elite see themselves as the rulers of the world.
And in this system they need to control all resources, especially energy.

And as expected, they are scamming people (including many scientists).

The problem with that idea, is that Earth is far too large.

You need huge industries to change weather, like the smog in China and such.
Deforestation and cities also have large impact.

Changing weather from a few airplanes or other systems is extremely hard, and you can
only have effect on things that are already close to happening.
Like starting rain in clouds, starting clouds from water-rich air.

[–]Jiminy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

My theory is that decades ago, when air planes were invented or shortly after, scientists and rich folks immediately started experimenting with weather modification by spraying chemicals in the air. They saw how major portions of land on earth is unusable because of cold climate and permafrost, that's potential being unused. They knew people would notice temperatures rising so they made up this climate change science to explain it. The data doesn't show that temperatures will rise but it's not looking at the chemicals they're spraying or considering that they can alter it and the amounts whenever they want so the past isn't predictive of the future. I think temperatures will rise, it won't be a doomsday or an apocalypse, it'll make some land more valuable.

Exactly the opposite. It can not be stored. It always needs to be generated.

It's a meaningless concept. Oil needs to be refined and evaporates.

Solar and wind are just temporary and very low in power.

You can argue all day long, but solar is an economic way of producing power right now.

The mechanisms for zero-carbon or carbon-neutral are FAKE.

Direct-air capture is a real technology and there are more. However, most energy is still dirty, yes. Apparently, even natural hydrogen has been found. If we plaster the oceans with solar panels, there's more than enough energy (and no, those don't have to be made from rare earth materials; it's just that their efficiency is much higher when they are).

Some nuclear fusion forms of power generation generate electricity immediately without boiling water. So, you are wrong. It is true there is no public commercial reactor yet, but that's irrelevant; the mechanisms already exist and it's just a matter of time and capital before oil is obsolete for power generation.

It is far better to drive with normal busses during winter and save energy.

I doubt you have ever compared the two in a commercial setting and as such, why would anyone care about your opinion? The science is not on your side. The science says that even in winter time the opex is lower/km.

Climate change is mostly a political problem, not a technical one.

[–]zyxzevn[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Electricity is a superior form of energy, because it's convenient.

Exactly the opposite. It can not be stored. (in useful quantities) It always needs to be generated.

You always need some energetic processes to generate it at any time, either chemical or mechanical.
Solar and wind are just temporary and very low in power.
And the energy from and to those energy storage processes always have loss of energy.

Why did you post this?

The mechanisms for zero-carbon or carbon-neutral are FAKE.
It is destruction of society and a waste of energy.
It is far better to drive with normal busses during winter and save energy.
And get the electric busses out when it is summer.

Sweden is charging electric busses with DIESEL generators by zyxzevn in ClimateSkeptics

[–]binaryblob 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No sane person would ever agree with the thesis of the article. All it shows is that someone made a mistake in a tiny part of the wind industry.

The equivalent would be to have a headline that oil is a scam, because all of it is leaked into Nigerian ground.

Having electric buses (yes, that's how you write it, genius) is obviously a good thing in the future for whoever is behind the bus (less exhaust and noise) and those inside (less noise). Do you think they will continue to use diesel generators forever at that location? If not, then why even report it?

Electricity is a superior form of energy, because it's convenient. Transporting fuel around all day long is just stupid. If diesel were completely clean, then in principle creating a network of pipes with diesel could work, but since combustion fundamentally causes wear and tear, you just end up having to replace your infrastructure all day long. It's just a dead end. Accept it and accept that everyone understands this.

In a few decades nuclear fusion reactors will output electricity directly to the grid. If there is a lot of demand for electricity, those are more economically viable. If there is only demand for diesel, nobody wants such developments. Electricity is the future and it has been gigantically successful already.

So, why do you post this? If anything, post an overview article of places where people do such things out of entertainment, but don't imply that these have any policy implications. The only reason to post something like this seriously is when you believe that electrons as charge carriers are fundamentally a bad idea because the transport costs would be too high compared to alternatives, like liquid energy carriers. In the real world, people are connecting continents together with cables thousands of kilometers long. If continuing to use ships to transport energy were cheaper, they wouldn't do that.

So, is there any user (not a shill) still left in the world that agrees with the article?

Our nation's collection of certified volunteer ran ground stations are +90% out of specification, by being too close to a heat sink. They are required 30+ feet from concrete, gravel, or buildings, but most are in a parking lot, next to a building, or being blown on by the hot air exhaust of a building's air conditioner. This was exposed and nothing was done. It was exposed again a decade later and gave them enough slight embarrassment to do something about it. The government lie machine deployed 2k new ground, but declared an algorithm would be use to adjust them to report closer to what the previous flawed stations were reading...you can't make this shit up, it is too stupid.

We have had NO reliable surface temperature readings for at least 30 years. Everything hides behind magic data sets you can't review, ground stations you no longer can verify, and mystery computer models built around assumptions of global warming, which ensure the results match.

With no free, open, transparent, and correct climate data, we should never believe anything they say.

Finding an imprint of solar and climatic cycles in tree rings of European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) by zyxzevn in ClimateSkeptics

[–]zyxzevn[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Abstract:

The present study is focused on European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) growth in eastern Bohemia in the Broumovské stěny National Nature Reserve, Czech Republic. The objective of this research was to develop an evaluation of European beech radial growth in relation to solar activity (number of sunspots), air temperature in the growing season, annual precipitation and air pollution (SO2 depositions). The highest positive significant correlation coefficient was found between radial growth of European beech and number of sunspots, followed by the correlation with air temperature in the growing season. The radial growth showed a negative significant correlation with SO2 depositions. The correlation of the radial growth indicates that precipitation and sunspots have a lower correlation coefficient with beech growth than seasonal temperature during an air pollution disaster in the 21st solar cycle. Radial growth, precipitation total and air temperature in the growing season were processed by spectral analysis for the evaluation of periodic cycles. The 7.5- to 11-year cycles were observed in air temperature and in sunspot cycles. Precipitation and air temperature in the growing season indicate a higher frequency at 3.7-year cycles. The long-term periodicity of radial growth was influenced by both solar activity and fluctuations of growing-season air temperature.

So it is not only "global warming" but also "global cooling", with more flooding, more earthquakes, more volcanic eruptions, more hail storms, more tornadoes, more hurricanes/cyclones, more destruction.... It's not from CO2, but from GOD, to bring man to his knees in repentance before it's too late. Hell is much worse. All who call on the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.

It's not a quote,

I realize it's not a quote. That's why I said misquote.

it's making actual mockery of your faith in clearly bad science.

As you can see from the link in the link in this comment, that models were good science, even models from 40 years ago.

So trying to make mockery falls flat doesn't it?

This is how they were doing 20 years ago.

The climate models are trash.

This is exactly where you're going off the rails. If this claim of yours wasn't established as false, with evidence, for much worse models than we've got today, then you would be making some sense.

But, alas, you're not.

With someone who claims that we don't know why ice melts?

The problem is spanning the gap in order to keep down:

You misquote me as saying "weather models are trustworthy". I was talking about climate models. In particular their output with respect to global mean surface temperature.

The thing about that parameter, is that it's not affected much by regional weather, because it's constrained by the energy imbalance at the top of the atmosphere, and how quickly the extra heat is being absorbed into the ocean.

Do you know that climate and weather aren't the same?

The study they reference highlights just this, but the articles all misrepresent it.

The study points out we only have data starting from the early 1990's and that swings in the ice melting and temps normally swing wildly in 10 year blocks, so none of this is but noise.

Climate change, people need to realize 200 years or less is 'weather', not climate. 200 years is statistical noise to climate history.

The best way to stay warm(er) in winter power cuts is to set up a tent in your living room.

A tent with the door closed will create a microclimate in your home which can stay about 20-30 degrees warmer than the rest of the home.

Bonus points if you can include reflective materials like space blankets, etc.

No you need to not misrepresent the science. There are things that are known, and there are things that are still being investigated.

I have been. For the last 40 fucking years. Not one, not a single one has ever come true.

Global mean surface temperature predictions have been very good over that time.

nobody knows why the ice melts

If enough heat is transferred to it, it melts.

there is no way to predict melting

You can predict the transfer of heat with a coupled atmosphere and ocean model.

anyone who claims certainty in any direction regarding global weather in >2 weeks from now is full of shit

James Hansen predicted global warming in the 80s using an atmospheric model that nasa developed for Venus over a basic slab model of the ocean.

He was bang on the nose, wrt global mean surface temperature.

Models are much better now.

Wait, there's still ice to melt?

Enough to raise sea levels about 80 metres, of you get it all

Al Gore said the ice would be all gone 10 years ago.

He quoted a paper looking at the collapse of the northern summer sea ice.

The West Antarctic ice shelves aren't northern, they're southern.

These gloom and doom predictions are old and tired.

You need to look at all the predictions to understand the consensus of the science. Picking one extreme one, and finding that it is extreme doesn't overthrow the consensus regarding the other side of there planet.

Or even the same side.

Whether intended or not, much food is wasted during these power cuts, which have already been happening. I think it was last year, they blamed a very cold winter and heaters used too much power. But here in the southern states, most of us burn natural gas to produce the heat, and we need only a small amount of electricity to power the fans that circulate the air.

He said: “That is actually far less efficient than burning gas in your house. Domestic gas boilers are about 90% efficient but the best power station is about 50% efficient.”

They rebranded "global warming" to "climate change".

When, last night? I just linked to to 29,000 papers this year that used the term global warming.

CO2 continues to increase.

Yes

Temperatures aren't increasing

I've linked you to 7 data sets showing warning. You've found 0 showing no warming.

So temperatures are increasing.

Northern sea ice has rebounded tremendously

The trend is about linear down for both summer and winter volume.

This year is not an outlier, much less a "tremendous" rebound.
