The vatican has been infiltrated by people who worship de Chardin's "Spiritus Mundi" and they are chock full of heresies, errors, and blasphemes. More and more Catholics are waking up to the fact that this spirit, and either another or it in another guise as the spirit of vatican two, is anti-Christ. Perhaps they are late to the party on this. Many Catholics are helped in seeing this more clearly though a number of Marian apparitions warning about it and describing it all. I do not know any Catholics who worship Mary but many who venerate her no differently than she is in the Bible. The problem might be more fundamental: the meaning of the communion of saints, the strength of biblical evidence for it, the historicity of it among the writings left for us by people like Justin Martyr, and how it is used.
