Visited Shenzhen for a week on business. Saw a single tiny patch of blue sky for about 15 mins on the last day, while in Hong Kong.
The sun was orange though the smog the entire trip.

It's no joke.

Went to Beijing. The smog was so bad that when looking at the buildings, you could only see a few blocks ahead. In a taxi it looked like the buildings were appearing out of mist.
