Almost every single Chattanooga based Gig City startup is backed by old money trust fund kids that have the last names of old dead politicians and business tycoons. They refuse to hire the locals no matter what their skill set and educational backgrounds are unless they grew up on the right mountain, went to the right private schools, and grew up going to the right church. Fortunately most of these startups fail. Hiring unskilled cronies isn't a good long term strategy.
