This does sound neat. Most of it is Greek to me. Crypto on a forum scares me. Steemit sucked primarily for that reason. There were a few other minor reasons too, but nothing so obvious or major. Besides not being a linux, forum, or crypto admin guy, I would also hate to have some kind of scam happen on my gear, accidentally or not. Yet, crypto seems among the only ways forward. Were I/we to adopt some crypto thing I would want to decentralize it somehow. For example, have enough on the forum to manage in day to day or week to week affairs, and keep the rest in several different external places (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.), perhaps entrusted under different people too. A nice problem to have.

We wouldn't have to have anything to do with holding the money, just facilitate transfers using the sdk, allowing users to tip each other. I'd love to be able to buy someone a beer for a good comment.

Although we might want to think about taking a rake to pay for expenses, like hookers, vodka, cocaine and server costs.

Are you Bender B. Rodriguez?

Not holding the money sounds better. Rakes and tips would be good too.

I've never wanted a hooker because I got by just fine. Recreational drugs would be nice again, and I'm no longer just fine anymore, so I might want to rent some company, especially with Mr. White - if I can ever afford it.

Mr. DeepState can try to corrupt me with these when the time comes (please sooner than later), but if we build this properly my corruption won't make a dent in things.

We make this too distributed and yes, monetization will be a problem. That's got advantages to it of course, but on the other hand it's working for free, something I never particularly enjoyed.

I don't understand.

That I understand and share. I would like to change that too. Badly actually. You've heard me bitch about it for over a year I think. I'm on the verge of just ditching all of my plans to start a video series and hope for income. I know for certain that if I do I won't be looking back at forums. I was hoping to set something up with forum folks and a wiki but now I understand the pros and cons of forum life. I need doers, not talkers, to collaborate with.

I'm too stupid about cryptocurrency to make an informed comment. What I gather is that being integrated into the platform, it would facilitate transactions of virtual currencies(anyone could tip a user or the platform itself) and help finance server costs and programmers. I'll do a bit of homework and check what it has to offer.
