Under capitalism man exploit man; under socialism opposite is true.

Doesn't seem to be working out so great for Venezuela.

Venezuela has huge sanctions on them. And no, socialism doesn't have to be full blown authoritarian socialism. We don't need communism, trotskyism, maoism, or stalinism, but a form of capitalism under classical liberalism w/ conservative and socialistic aspects for welfare of the citizens is also a good idea.

Your attention please: That is an old joke from Russia before the fall, not a political opinion but to me anyway, it works that way too. The poor grammar was to mimic the Russian style of English. I think people in the former USSR who lived through that period with their sense of humor intact, deserve to be heard. They should know.

I think a few US groups including the Catholics in Action are doing a number on Venezuela. Remember Allende, the first freely elected socialist president (that the US didn't like) in the Western Hemisphere? He insisted on wearing his helmet as the CIA led him away. Special thanks to Hank Kissinger for that travesty.

How is it not exploitative to be forced to work but the government and have your proceeds taken from you?

They already do that.

I'm not forced to work, and I only get half my proceeds taken, so it isn't AS bad. Yet.

Exactly, they fuck you either way and are totally fine switching systems when necessary. Although, capitalism under classical liberalism, not neoliberalism would work well in the Us if they didn't sell our jobs to China. Now we just print as much money as possible devaluing it whilst wages stay stagnant.
