Isn't nationalism sort of in conflict with loving your neighbors? It seems like strong nationalism and patriotism focus more on blindly loving and following one's own group to the exclusion of others. No nation or group is perfect. Dogmatic allegiance is dangerous, as can be seen all over MSM.

You can love your country and the people from other places too. The two of them aren't opposing forces. I suppose toxic amounts of nationalism can make you racist towards others, but not if It's moderated...

I guess in my mind I associate the word "nationalism" with thinking your country is superior and accepting your country's ideologies over all others with blind faith. Having a healthy dose love of country is fine, nationalism just means something more severe in my experience.
