I agree blue team is the best! Richard Ayoade is the best, and he and Noel go great together. Richard Ayoade has a show called "Travel Man" that I very much enjoy, here's parts of episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylbZT6RNLLw

Nice, thanks for the 8 out of 10 cats does countdown Christmas edition! I used to be so addicted to that show. edit: This is a really good episode too, thanks

I heard there is a "Big Fat Quiz of the Decade" episode as well, separate from the 2019 quiz, so keep an eye out for that too

I never heard of this show.. They do this every New Years Eve in the UK? It was actually pretty funny - I was expecting it to be US-style late-night comedy bits, but they actually did a good job being funny and having relevant content that didn't revolve around politics. The Cats part was great. I loved Blue Team lol.

Watching this one rn because of how good The New Years edition was. Thank you for sharing! :)

Good article. Too short.

So much good comedy is lost in time.

While that article is about the British there's a lot forgotten in North America too.

Lots of folk music was anti-establishment and funny too with clever double entendres and such.

During Prohibition the blind pigs had all sorts of underground entertainment, and not so subtle.

I like the first Spike Jones (not today's director) and his wacky music. When the rock and roll thing came around and he heard the song "Splish Splash" he quit saying that he was out of a job.

Would I Lie to You? - The tales of Bob Mortimer by magnora7 in BritishComedy

[–]magnora7[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

"Would I Lie to You?" is a show where the panelists read a story about their own life off a card. The story may be real or it may not, in which case the actor is seeing the story for the first time. The goal is to get the other team to guess incorrectly about whether the story is true or not.

It's a really fun show to watch. These guys are peak wit. This Bob Mortimer guy has the most hilarious stories that somehow end up being true more often than not
