I would call it a same-sex relationship or opposite-sex relationship. I also don't see any problem with the term mlm or wlw relationship when its in text.

Calling it a Bi relationship obviously doesn't work. But neither does Straight or Gay. Just doesn't sound right to me.

It sounds like Homosexuals and Bisexuals are ok with the latter but I think it'll hurt both groups in the long run with its definition dilution/pollution. It probably already has.

Even better; We come up with new terms for same-sex or mlm/wlw that are less unwieldy. Or maybe just appropriate other words.

I've been wondering--- is it offensive in English to say "same-sex"? I see in DroptheT that some don't like it and say it reminds them of church/religious context? But I learnt it that way so I do not know.

I agree with you though in using same-sex & opposite sex to describe it.

Ahhh I forgot about MLM & WLW that works too! I guess it depends on context? I usually see MLM and WLM in a dating website context? I am not sure. Oh lol maybe I am thinking of M4M or W4W?? Same thing?

True, calling it a "straight" relationship or "gay relationship" isn't correct, I think people who use it are using it extremely colloquial. I know straight people who consider a bi person in a relationship with same sex to be in a "lesbian" or "gay" relationship in their eyes.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I guess it could be offensive in the same way that homosexual is said to sound too clinical. Maybe some religious people use the term to denigrate LGB people? I'm not religious or go to church so I don't know.

Similar, I guess. M4M(Men for Men or Men Seeking Men), W4W(Women for Women or Women Seeking Women). The acronyms are mostly for online usage.
