Thanks to u/wafflegaff for archiving the whole sub! What do you guys think about super sexualities? Personally I love them. It's so refreshing that there's actually a space on reddit where you can say 'I'm not into trans people' without getting banned. At least for now.

I like it so far too!

Was curious and I have been thinking about this... 🤔

Do you believe it got traction because a straight person got involved, or was it because TRAs were bullying a kid/teen which tipped people over or a combination of both or neither?

I saw people bringing that open when #SuperSexualities were gaining traction. Honestly, whatever the reason is...I don't really care haha. I'm just glad that there's attention brought to this subject and glad #SuperBi is part of it.

To be honest, as the B, I feel a bit left out lol. With straight, lesbian, and gay people, they, in a sense, have more in common for being monosexual. So it's easy for them to say "I'm straight, I'm not attracted to same sex" or "I'm gay/lesbian, I'm not attracted to opposite sex". Whenever we try to do the same, we get told "BUT YOU LIKE BOTH, YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR NOT being attracted to trans people!!!"

That's why I really like the analogy you made(hope you don't mind me quoting you here):

"This biphobic bullshit is why we need spaces like this. I like cats. They're cute. I also like turtles. They're cute too. By your logic I should have no problem owning a cat that has been surgically and hormonally altered to look like a turtle or vice versa. I'm not required to do that. I'm not bigoted or 'trans-cat/turtle phobic' for not finding an uncanny valley cat-turtle adorable the same way I find unaltered cats and turtles adorable. Me being bisexual doesn't automatically mean I'm okay with transitioned bodies or the narcissistic personalities of most trans people I've come in contact with."

I'm hoping that'll shut people down on telling us a billion times how were not allowed to be bisexual(ex. Attracted to MALE and FEMALE, unlike pansexual which includes trans and "non binary")

Both, I think. Someone on the sub mentioned that it starting on tiktok as a meme probably had something to do with it too. Memes are easily digestible, relatable, and readily shared. So this got massive traction because of that, and the fact that for many people frustration with TRAs was reaching critical mass. I know it was for me. It feels so good to be able to call out TRAs and genderspecials on the supersubs and have their comments downvoted to oblivion instead of mine. It's like a breath of fresh air to just be able to say 'no, I don't think transwomen are women' when a TRA tries to guilt me without the banhammer coming down 2 seconds later.

To be honest, as the B, I feel a bit left out lol. With straight, lesbian, and gay people, they, in a sense, have more in common for being monosexual. S A M E. This is why when I was in the gender cult I struggled with a lot of guilt over not being into trans people for years. Their bullshit worked. I DID feel like a bigoted piece of shit and I hated that. I wanted to be better. And I tried. I really did. But the uncanny nature of most trans people's appearances was just very unsettling to me. I'm also not into fake genitals. Even for pre-hormone trans people, enbies, or trans people who never go on hormones or get surgery, I'm turned off by transmen's internalized misogyny. I'm turned off by transwomen's externalized misogyny. In either case I'm turned off by the homophobia, internalized or externalized. Nonbinaries' 'me me me' tendencies are a huge turn off. In all three situations I'd be deeply viscerally turned off by someone who thinks their hobbies, interests, fashion choices, thinking patterns, or behaviors makes them the opposite sex (or neither for agender/enbies).

The only caveat for me is detrans women. There are some really hot detrans lesbians out there that make me dizzy lol. But even then, detrans women aren't the same as TIFs. Kind of like how I could maybe date someone who used to be an alcoholic, provided they have it under control. But I could never start a relationship with someone with an active drinking problem, or stay in one if they developed a drinking problem.

Edit: Just like I could never stay in a relationship with someone who transitioned after we started dating. That's another one they like to use against us. They do it to everyone, but I feel like bisexuals get the worst of it because "you're bi, why should it matter if your partner transitions?" Well, in addition to the aforementioned reasons, I find different things attractive in men vs women. So no, it's not a given that I'm still going to find my partner hot if they transition.

I have yet to see a detrans man I find attractive. Mainly because it seems like TIMs generally don't detrans, and the ones that do usually detrans after having botched bottom surgery and uh, no thanks.

I'm glad you liked my analogy! I was extremely frustrated for a ton of reasons lol. I knew I was gonna see a question like that on any sub for superbis. And I was even more angry because it made sense. I also had the thought of 'wait, I AM bisexual, why ARENT i attracted to trans people?' When I couldn't force it I sat down to examine why (like the TRAs told me to), and what I came away with was not hatred, only the way I'm wired. I don't date people with children, or people who want children. I'm not bigoted or parent-phobic, it's just not something that's compatible with me.

I finished looking through the archive posts and...I find it interesting that despite everyone there not being attracted to trans, there's various degrees of how much they accept trans ideology---variety is good. It reminds me a bit of LGBDroptheT. Though... #SuperSexualities or /r/SuperStraight is a bit more jolly than our lot hahaha.

There's some who say trans is valid---just that they're not attracted to them, others say they don't agree, but will be polite, and some who are don't agree at all with trans males/trans females and use terms such as TiF or TiM to describe them.

I guess...I would also be in the "hardcore" box, but mostly due to my experience of being a FtM/TiF/trans female or whichever term lol. I detransitioned and viewed the whole gender ideology as sexist and don't agree with transitioning at all, but I won't be an asshole to trans people I meet in real life, I know how it's like suffering from gender dysphoria and not knowing how to "cure" myself...

Anyways, I think the "SuperSexualities" movement is interesting. I think they're also playing it safer than those of us(from DroptheT mainly) with the terminologies they use and having trans allies and allowing #SuperTrans too lol. It's intriguing.

Overall...it's just a jollier and more fun version of DroptheT, pretty much haha. But they have similarities and intersect.

Edit: word

I agree variety is definitely a good thing. I don't agree with transition in general either, but having differing opinions in any group is essential to prevent it from becoming an echo chamber.

I also won't go out of my way to be rude to someone. I'll even use their pronouns if I have to. But the supersubs, and saidit, is gonna be where I blow off steam because walking on eggshells all the time is exhausting lol.
