Let's dispel some bisexual myths and get the facts straight!

If you agree with a particular stereotype listed, give yourself +1 point if you disagree give yourself a -1 point, neutral you receive 0 points. If you give a half ass "well sorta" answer, then put either +.5 points or -.5 points

DISCLAIMER

I know that all answers are nuanced and there is no judgement for however you answer. The beauty of this is that we ALL come from various backgrounds. I couldn't care less if you're polyarmous, lean towards males/females, etc. Who cares?

Stereotype 1: Bisexuals like to sleep around and have multiple partners

1. What are your thoughts on polyarmorous relationships?

((I'm sorry guys LOL I know this is reddit crap, but I thought it was funny to add because of how silly it is they try to push it into bisexual culture))

I'll come up with a silly naming system for how many points you get.

This is just for fun, so if you do have a couple of points racked up in the positives, don't worry about it. This is just done in jest. If some idiots want to say "SEE, BISEXUALS ARE STEREOTYPES" then they can shut the fuck up and learn to read the answers, since answers are nuanced. In other words, don't feel bad.

ALSO if you want to add questions to the game for more fun, go ahead and post questions and add the rating system! We can come up with some more goofy titles depending on how many points each user earns lol.

I'm not in one nor do I think I can be in one but I'm honestly okay with them. You do you. If you can take on multiple people, then kudos to you.

  • Again, I'm supportive of it. Not for me, but it's cool. If the three-way couple can make it work, then kudos to them. Same goes for polyandry. Double the husbands and/or wives then the fathers and/or mothers.

  • They're nice. Long as there's communication and everyone is comfortable, then it's okay.

2. Do you prefer/lean more towards men over women? [+1]

Yes. I prefer/lean towards men more than women. I find both sexy, but I just appreciate the male body more.

  • Nope. Don't plan in it anytime soon either.

HA! I couldn't be decisive to save my life. But in my case, it's not a bisexual stereotype, it's a ADHD stereotype (?)

Nope, unless you count online and even with that, I'm selectively on who gets to know. It's usually a) the space I'm in is lgb or b) surprising, it's to defend myself becuase some of my opinions get people assuming I'm straight...

Not for me but I don't have a problem with it in theory. I think in practice it's likely someone's heart's gonna get broken though and that people who are into it are probably just looking for a socially acceptable way to cheat

Nah, I prefer women. It's not an extremely strong preference or anything, but it's a pretty clear one

I wouldn't say I'm an extremely decisive person cause I don't necessarily make decisions easily/quickly, but when I make up my mind I'm sure of it

Never been in a "real" relationship before—I'm pretty young though so that's not exactly unusual for my age

Meh, I don't really care, not a huge fan but some could be funny I guess

Ultimately, I don't think polyarmorous relationships work out. There's a power imbalance to where there will always be the "main couple" and basically the other person is the "side dude/chick".

  • My answer is the same as above--but also wanted to add that polygamy makes things even MORE complicated once children are involved.

  • ...Well, this will go against the grain of my previous two answers but I don't think threesomes are inherently bad. It's a couple with someone who has "no strings attached". I know in opposite-sex relationships (ex. bi woman & straight man). The straight person wouldn't be mad if the bisexual person were to sleep with the same-sex and that they actively in courage it. To each their own I suppose.

Well...I typically lean towards woman over men and when I was a depressed turd monkey, I wanted to be a hermit for life and NEVER have a serious relationship so people would leave me alone.

  • Yes.

I will say yes, but men in my life, aka, work others try to say NO and talk over me and say that I can't make up my mind. It's rather annoying. I usually know WHAT I want and HOW I want something, I only ask others what & how out of courtesy, but then it gets pinned back on me as being indecisive LOL. I'm not.

No, I've only been in a serious relationship with a man. Back then, I used to think I was a lesbian and was HEAVILY closeted, so I didn't try hard enough to ask out women I may have been interested in for two reasons: 1) Rejection or 2) Word gets back around to my heavily religious, traditional family and I get disowned.

This question took me bi surprised! I suppose I'm a little biased when it comes to puns in general.

....Fuck. Unfortunately, I do like to cuff my pants and used to before even knowing wtf is "bisexual culture". I also wanted a bob haircut like my favourite bisexual character, Korra from Legend of Korra because she seemed bad ass and...I like short hair(on myself, I usually cut it to a pixie cut). Currently, I got long, curly, grungey hair. I like the curls so I'm keeping it long for now, I guess.

No. My partner is the FIRST to know. My brothers know too and maybe some others by accident but I don't actively out myself due to the headache.

Stereotype 1: 0

There's a fundamental fear of homosexual attraction, that's if you lust after the same sex you have to have an outlet for it or else you're dangerous and scary because you'll abuse others. I think that's where the push for polyamoury on bisexuals is coming from.

Everyone thinks we're scary and dangerous because we can never be fully pleased (in their minds, I don't think that's true.)

Stereotype 6: -1!

Give the redditsexuals some credit though, I think the "can't sit in chairs" stereotype may be accurate. It appears to be correct and uncontrollable for me. Or it might just be... normal.

So is the "bisexual men always have a flashlight on them" observation, at least with the handful I've known.
