Surprisingly gripping viewing.

Kobe killed himself with "get-there-itis", a condition that causes pilots to ignore dangerous conditions. Kobe had already fired two pilots who put safety first. He found a yes-man who flew into IFR conditions and got predictably disoriented, and guided a perfectly working aircraft into a hillside.

And he's also a rapist.

I have no comment on your comment about Kobe but I do know about when pilots get disoriented in cloud banks. It seems incredible to us sitting on the ground on a sunny day but when you're up there, surrounded by white, and your instruments are telling you that your descending BUT you 'feel' like you're ascending then too many pilots will disregard the instruments.

It happens even to experienced and otherwise good pilots. The plane is found piled into a hillside after an inexplicable steady descent in low or zero visibility conditions, and everyone is scratching their heads while saying things like "But Bob was such a good pilot".
