It would be nice to toggle modes either at the comment or in user preferences.

In addition to formatting help is this: https://saidit.net/wiki/commenting There were a few more things I discovered to add but have now forgotten, as well as spoilers formatting.

If you implement it an there's an outcry against it you might want to set up an easy revert if necessary.

Also, for what its worth, DuckDuckGo has indexed a bunch of SaidIt so it's now much easier to search, though far from complete or perfect.

Personally I know all of the keyboard commands for it, and they're all under 'formatting help'. But I guess having buttons would be useful too. It does clutter the page a bit and increase load time a bit, but it's probably useful enough to be worth it. So I'd support it as well

I always have to look at the syntax for links as the square and curved brackets seem backwards. I think buttons may make comment formatting easier.
