I like making people listen to the performance, and identify how many instruments they hear.
Then I show them the video

I thought he was just sampling himself and replaying it at first, definitely did a double take :)

and it looks like he changes notes with the tuning handle thing because it lets him bang out some drum with the other hand. not a gimmick.
