I'm not a lurker but I think some people, boomers, in other countries mainly, their phone or device doesn't automatically log them in, or they don't know how, and can't always remember passwords, so they just read stuff not comment. I know more than half of YouTube users are like that. Probably Reddit too. Twitter. This site has less overall people but it's surely a large percentage of the total.
