Depends on the type of problem you're solving, I guess?

ye why?

Ye?

To solve a murder, I'd want to know How it happened: Who did it and in what manner they did it.
To prevent future murders, I'd want to know Why they are happening: Gang violence? Money disputes in a poor economy?

In the case of some things, How and Why are essentially the same question on the smaller scale: The engine keeps stalling - How? A part is broken. Why? Because of the broken part. They only become different questions as we pull out to view the question more broadly: How? A part is broken. Why? Because of continued wear. How? A part is broken. Why? The manufacturer skimps on the cost of this part and enjoys the returned service fees to have it repaired. Etc etc.

Sometimes one of the questions isn't really relevant at all at the time or is self explanatory: Hey, Google - How do I beat this boss in Elden Ring? "How you beat the boss is by rolling through their grab and taking the long cooldown to hit them. Do you want to know why you beat this boss?"... No, that's okay. I don't need you to tell me why I'm doing it. It doesn't matter to me and/or I already understand the story as much as I want to.

Hey, will you marry me? Why? Because I love you and I think you love me and I want to spend the rest of my life with you!... How? Well, usually there's a priest and friends and family, sometimes a dog carries the ring down the isle... Look, I don't think the specifics of the ceremony are important now, we can discuss that later, do you WANT to marry me??

How do you suppose?

I suppose because of how and why.

What?

How

(Because 'why' rarely, if ever, matters as much.)

Doesn't how answer the why most times, or at least lead to it? But, the why should always lead to the how.

Yes, though the method might not always be inforative of the intent.

Ikeconn user blessing your heart is more important, actually.
