What would happen if we sent people to Mars, it's a huge success, and then the Martians develop into a separate species?

Oh I thought the Eloi were the slightly smarter ones, and had basically tricked/enslaved the Morlocks in to doing their work for them. But you may be right. I haven't read it in a long time
