You don't need a life change. What you need is to spend time looking inward to figure out where you are falling short of your potential which generally includes accepting responsibility for the numerous screw ups you've committed over the years but have yet to acknowledge in any real sense.

Picking up and moving to a "new life" is attractive because it's much easier to do than honest introspection, but you will still be the exact same person. You'll wake up in some new apartment 1/2 way around the world surrounded by the trappings of a new life but your reality will not have changed a single iota.

Running away is never a solution. Fix yourself first.

Really appreciate you taking the time to write such an insightful message. I guess I'm just overwhelmed economically, paying so much of my monthly income in rent is consuming me

Does anyone feel the same way?????

Paying too much rent is actually something that could be solved by moving, so please don't take my comments as encouragement to stay where you are. But assuming you do not have obstacles like a handicap or some other disadvantage that is outside of your control then there are lots of things that you could do to make your life more bearable, so don't despair. But short of winning a lottery they all involve making choices -- some hard -- and taking personal responsibility. Are you up for it?

This is not rocket science and it's probably safe to assume that I'm not saying anything you haven't already thought of. But that does not make it any less true.

Mexico and Thailand are quite popular expat destinations

From what I understand, Mexico is by far the easiest country to do this in, you don't need to have a job there already or even a visa, you can stay 6 months with just a passport, and many people just leave and re-enter every 6 months. Other places are going to be more difficult, you will need to get a visa, which would require you to already have a job there or apply for what is known as a 'digital nomad' visa if you make more than a certain amount working remotely

Yep. And some countries have needs with certain jobs that make it easier to get residency if you are already in that career field.

My sister used a tool called noalien or something like that. It matched her with germany and she said it made the process hella easy. I have no clue what it is but she said it was like turbotax for immigration

There is nowhere to run where they won't come to fuck with you sooner or later. I think the best bet currently is to simply get dropped from a chopper in the Amazon. As far away from civilization as possible.
