I prefer a search engine, I don't think that is the application for it. You'll see it replace the drive thru person, customer service representatives and such. Its also getting surpirsingly good at generating computer code

You asked whats different, the difference is this time its just good enough that its going to be used in the real world. Wendy's drive thru workers can barely speak english, I'm sure ChatGPT can handle it, and wont even call anyone a nigger like Tay. I'd also rather talk to ChatGPT than some Indian at a call center with an accent so thick I can't understand him, I'm pretty sure that will be next

Speaking of Indian call centers, scammers are allegedly using AI for kidnapping scams.

Soon enough, real-time deepfakes will be used. Imagine, instead of a prankster calling into a radio show impersonating a famous person, AI is used for Zoom calls or telecommuting or teleconferencing. You could have your very own VR AI bot handling your daily tasks while you're at the lake. Maybe not doing your job, but tricking your boss into thinking you're on the job.
