      Advantages:

      1 - Potentially easier to get the relationship, because it's already built. At the same time harder though since it's... your sibling.

      Disavantages:

      1 - Pregnancy is way more destructive, guaranteed to have a child with disabilities. Marriage is possibly way more divisive in the whole family than if you did gender surgery. Hell having a episode of beating your wife would have less controversy.

      2 - One of the only ways to destroy the family relationship if the incest relationship doesn't work. Generally if a relationship between 2 people doesn't work you go back to your family since that's the primal one. If the incest doesn't work... you still live with that person for the rest of your life. Awkward.

      3 - Talking of the first advantage, because it is easier, this also makes it so you don't have to develop conversational skills with the other gender, potentially ruinning your career if you settle for just your in-law instead of trying to snatch someone in the real world.

      4 - Destroy the family bond you have. EG if a mother has sex with son you destroy the mother bond, which could have disastrous consequences.

      Disadvantages:

      • Significantly reduced lifespan of offspring
      • Amplification of increased occurrence of inherited genetic deficiencies, such as night time blindness, hemophilia, to start.
      • Physical deformities
      • Diminished intelligence
      • Reduces fertility and virility in resulting offspring

      And that list goes on. I honestly couldn't tell you what, if any advantages there could come from it for those who participate in it.

      You can line breed many animals for desired genetics. That doesn't really translate well to humans.

      We need positive relationships with our immediate family. Many disorders even stem from poor relationships with parents in developmental phase.

      Also, due to access, if you didn't have that natural "gross-out" against immediate family, there would be a ton more molestation and sexual abuse further damaging our development.

      I think the inception and rise of incest porn is meant to normalize this behavior to further destroy families and human development.

      There are no advantages to close incest.

      With cousin incest families use it to keep money and property in the family. This is why cousin marriage is common in cultures where people used to own their smallholdings but not where people would have to rent or be serfs.

      Close relatives might each have the same bad gene. If they breed, they’re going to have children more likely to have the related genetic disease. This is called inbreeding depression.

      Less dangerous is outbreeding depression, like a white girl having babies with Tyrone. The genetic structure is too far apart and weird diseases can pop up.
