This post seems uncharacteristically spammy for you. What's this stuff supposed to do?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Stop heart attacks .

These kinds of online herbal shit are often not pure, and stuff like that .

I was wondering if anyone has used it.

Ah. I see. Don't know about that, but I hear vitamin D is pretty useful for a lot of stuff.

I understand that is not helpful. :)

Yes, not had any bad side effects, but I'm not diabetic so I don't know if it has made much difference.

You use it?

[–]send_nasty_stuff 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Yes. I've been using it on and off for a year or so. AMA.

Very cool.

Why did you start using it? Have you noticed anything different? Still feel healthy?

And what kind do you take?

Why did you start using it?

I like eating large meals frequently. I started OMAD 4 or 5 years ago but still hadn't quite the body fat percentage goals I was seeking so I wanted something to kick my insulin response down when I'm having cheat meals. Berberine fit the bill.

Have you noticed anything different?

Not really because I don't really use it frequently enough. It does work. I'm basically already fat adapted and have healthy insulin levels so I don't really think berberine helps me much. It's nice to have as a backup and it can be a quicker way to get into fasting if you take it to start a fast or take it in the middle of a fast to ramp up fasting and get closer to the autophagy phase.

Still feel healthy?

Absolutely. It hasn't hurt my health at all. It's a much safer and cheaper form of insulin modulation than metformin.

And what kind do you take?

Thorne.

Got it.

I’m actually going to take it like a vitamin. Supposedly it helps with being plaque. So heart health. And vitamin K.

I’m going to do omad, but I never really had an issues with dieting. That just because they say fasting is healthy?

Supposedly it helps with [removing] plaque.

Correct!

Just be careful with taking large amounts away from meals. Might make you feel a bit queasy as it drops your insulin. Shouldn't be a problem is you are already into fasting and ketosis strategies.

And vitamin K.

Vitamin K is also cool. It helps with uptake of vitamin D. I don't do the D supplement though. I just try to full body sun tan 3 times a week. (you want UV rays in the 3-5 range 20-40 minutes)

I’m going to do omad,

Awesome. Just ease into it slowly. Maybe try two meals a day, i.e. intermittent fasting.

That just because they say fasting is healthy?

Fasting is amazing but it's a learning process. Here's a GREAT video. I like to put salt and potassium into my water, sometimes a hint of lemon so that my electrolytes are stable as I fast through the day. I also do black coffee for breakfast. When you get good at OMAD it makes the occasional 48 or even 72 hour fast more attainable. I only do those like once every few months. (I'd like to start doing them more though).

I use a simple version of this through the day:

You also want to be careful and eat a quality meal on your one meal because you can real quickly become deficient in something if you're lazy on that meal.

If you're getting into the dissident/alt health scene here are two posts I wrote:

I can also share out my current 'stack' and new things I'm experimenting with if you're interested!

Good health, happy Easter and keep me up-to-date on your progress!

I really feel like we’re in the verge of what it means to eat healthy. Like now, finally, we know what is good, and not good.

Saved to my watch later list:

  1. I all ready watched that High Intensity Health video. He’s why I became interested in Berberine.

  2. Fasting For Survival Lecture by Dr Pradip Jamnadas - excited for this one. I’ll watch it while driving.

As far as snake juice goes, I use this: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=10000+volts&crid=1TAA9TQUCXX42&sprefix=10000+volts%2Caps%2C95&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_2_11

Man your post is great: https://www.ajconsultingcompany.com/whatiuse.html

That’s great information. I use Castile soap all ready. And ginger shampoo. I was looking for a conditioner and moisturizer.

This is exactly up my alley. Thanks for sharing.

That seed oil, grains, starches. Etc. that’s exactly what I’m telling people to stay away from. If it’s processed, it’s no good. Olive oil for me. Means and fish. The hood veggies.

I’m actually starting a real serious strict diet within the next month. Just healthy.

Like keto, not not Leto. I can eat sweet potatos or fruits if I want to. I just don’t usually, so I avoid it.

Jesus, people should upvote stuff so it has visibility, especially if they're commenting. Not that I know anything about Berberine, but supplements interest me, particularly anti-inflammatory ones.

For heart health I have tried Nattokinase, and serrapeptase. Hard to say if they do anything, and I haven't been taking the Nattokinase because of testosterone concerns, but my blood pressure has been good with meds, it isn't always.

Now I'm ordering Liposomal Artemisinin 600MG (with Quercetin Phytosome). Anti-malarial. They're oddly effective in autoimmune/cancer issues sometimes.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The issue is that I always hear alot of stuff about herbal stuff.

I tried tongat Ali and dagadocia agressive. And I think they are bad. https://the-unwinder.com/insights/tongkat-ali-and-fadogia-agrestis/

Like is the newest and best herbal thing really that good?

[–]Musky 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Most supplements are a waste of money or actually harmful. I like trying things used in traditional or even modern medicine, the serrapeptase and Nattokinase are used as medicine in Japan, and the Artemisinin is used for malaria in Indian and China, although resistance is showing up.

I have a bottle of berberine pills that I impulse bought, but I read some stuff about it not being very bioavailable. And I just couldn't find very good information about what would make it better, or even whether to take it with a meal or on an empty stomach.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That’s what I was worried about. There’s another medicinal remedy that I was looking into and it had the same bioavailability issue. And the one that was made more Bioavaiable was like 200$ per bottle. Not worth it.

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll look into it.

It was like NAD+. The thing I was looking into that wasent bioavailable was like nad+.

Are there any things you do take, or routines that you do?

Like facial moisturizer, or routines, for health?
