Why has internet content gotten so stale?

I get bored in five minutes on the internet. There's no interesting personalities or shows anymore. Anything that could be good gets "cancelled". I just want the early 2000s internet back. How do we do it?

Because anything interesting or edgy is a no-no, and must be censored, downranked in searches, or otherwise hidden.

You must learn to be a good little bland NPC. Try harder. It is not easy to become sane.

The internet has adopted so many new uses and made so many occasional users much more active. This has flooded the Internet with the normy low-info public, who have the 3 second attention spans of a gold fish, are easily manipulated with lame tricks, and need everything dumb'd down to a 3rd grade reading level.

Catering to this mass of fools has lower the quality of the Internet as a whole, as advertisers and platforms target the majority of users.

I'm writing a pretty good book rn but in the past I spent 3 years on an art project that got lots of fake internet points with near-daily posts.
