What’s with all the spam on this site? Fuck.

I'm around and actually removed truckloads of spam last weekend. But saidit doesn't have any anti-spam tools at the moment so there's nothing that can be done to stop them.

I don't know why such a small site gets so much spam. Especially when others don't really seem to. Maybe because it's an actual fork of reddit.

Reddit has ads that show up as “promoted”, and you know right away. These ads are literal shitpost style. Its just a pain to “report” them and then “hide” them. I guess I could block the user too, but they’ll just find another route like a telemarketer.

Btw, does reporting do any good or is it a pain in the butt for you?

Also, I have zero tech knowledge or savvy.

Reporting really does help. /s/all has a reports page where I can see every report on the site. If admin is turned on the reports will also show up anywhere just like they would if you were a mod.

So wait, if you get turned on you can see everything? Kidding. I’ll keep reporting. Seems to be mostly in the morning, U.S. pacific time.
