Speaking as a phobia therapist, self-touch can actually be incredibly powerful.

Try thinking of whatever is upsetting you and stroking your own arms, from the shoulder down to the elbow. Keep it up for a full minute.

You'll find the power of the thing to upset you has waned like the covid vaccines.

Holy shit this technique is so powerful! Thank you for teaching me the ancient ways, Bigs.

You're welcome.

Wanna go further? Do the same as above, plus move your eyes from side to side, all the way, without moving your head. Combined with the arm stroking it helps demolish the neural connections that make the phobia, fear, grief or whatever so strong.

When stroking make sure to use or include the palms of your hands, not just your fingers. If or when your eyes are tired or uncomfortable just close them and continue stroking. A full minute minimum, but you can go for 20 minutes or until you're bored shitless.

Literally; if you're bored it's probably already worked :)

Wanna book me for more, alancarronline.com

A therapy service from a saidit guy? Hey, thanks. I'll be sure to look you up when the time comes, man.

Thank you.

Covid is a criminal scam.

Body language wise people pat others on the back when they've done well to try to enforce their own higher status.

It does seem like very masturbatory advice.

Not physically, necessarily, but mentally you be aware when your hard work has paid off. I think it can help reinforce good choices and good actions, and mainly helps to keep yourself mentally positive.

Yeah you're right the saying is probably geared towards a mental pat on the back rather than a physical one. I still find the idea of someone literally patting themselves on the back funny as fuck though.

Like Bigs said, though, sometimes a physical action in coordination with the mental one can help. Sometimes saying something out loud also helps more than just saying it in your head. The mind/body connection works in strange ways to most of us.

We enjoyed your Saidit.net Youtube video in chat the other night. Very professional and clean production. I think you have the same reactions and thoughts as most of us who stick around for more than six months. There are still a couple of users here who troll quite hard, though. Even I get trolled sometimes, and I try to be careful about it.

If I asked you for a hug, would you say yes?

Oh, you're too kind. Thank you, I saw some people talking about it in the chat. I'm glad you guys liked it. Muskrat didn't take too kindly to the fact that I said Jason is smarter than him (LOL!) but we had a pleasant voice chat later on (earlier today). I even said hello to his wife briefly. Musky's a pretty cool guy to voice chat with.

Absolutely, this place is a breeding ground for the world's strongest. Everyone on reddit is so fucking boring and cringe. I thought I had became too strong. But after discovering saidit, it was then that I realised that I still have so much more to learn, and that I am so weak compared to everyone here. You guys are the most craziest and funniest people I've met in a very long time. I hope to become as strong as all of you one day.

Socks, Chipit, Eddy, who else? I still don't know much about saidit folklore to be honest. Socks has always been pleasant to me. Chipit I don't think I've ever interacted with. Eddy said he'd send me a picture of his teeth, but didn't. I have a thing for teeth, so this really bummed me out.

I'm a hugger. Sure.

I think you'll find that this site has a smart userbase, even if some of the users' sense of humor are odd.

Socks, Chipit, Eddy, who else?

I think socks is either a paid shill or just likes to be a contrarian to the normal user here. He's really cool in the chat. Chipit brings a lot of informative posts to Saidit. I only had one discussion with him and he was a little abrasive, but I don't take it personally. Edward, well, he's a different breed. He's an interesting guy, to say the least, and brings a lot of entertainment, albeit painful at times, here. I also am curious as to how many alts would go silent if he left the site.
