I remember there being like 1 or 2 posts per day if that. It was unusable because there was no one to talk to.

You remember wrong, as I was posting a lot back then - daily. Unless it was during a period where M7 alienated me (and others), and I pulled back for a while.

Yes the front page was slower.

And yes, there were less folks to converse with, but it was never the ghost town you make it sound like.

Oddly enough the votes have been consistently about the same (besides the vote-tampering periods) - 10 for a good post, 20 great, 30 exceptional, more was rare. I'm not sure why.

There were a couple of active users, but that was it. Little community. I suspect only the most active users care enough to vote most of the time.
