Are remote IT jobs something that exist much? I know that in software development being remote is not much of an obstacle, but when I hear "IT" I think about people who have to actually be on-site at times.
And that said, I don't think you necessarily need a degree to work in IT or software development. I do think a real theoretical CS degree is excellent preparation for being a developer.
