Sure. I've heard/read something like this several times now. We are pattern-creature creatures and so we fill in gaps to "explain a pattern."

They were invented to provide an explanation for our minds to keep us from becoming suspicious about the simulation.

The physical part of my existence still is here because i lack the funds to build the devices to change that, sadly. I gotta admit.

I don't mean multiverse or these tales. On the other hands i can't explain how i got to the point where i started to regard my body as a vessel and only a "lesser" part of my existence. I use my illusions.
