Whether conscious of that fact or not, being a man is much much harder and requires much more out of someone. Whereas being a woman comes preloaded with tons of protections, free stuff and lower expectations (which means a woman has to achieve less to get the same amount of respect as a man). Also there's a ton of contempt for men in western societies thanks to leftists. So some men who feel like they failed at life, who just want to have an easier life start thinking they could become a woman and... try to do that. Or that's just my theory, feel free to accept or dismiss it.

I think there also was some genetic factor but I can't remember anything about it.

While I think your theory is right, women do not have life on easy mode.

I also think if you add in the easy access to extreme pornography and social isolation, lots of men don't have the ability to stop pressing that 'pleasure button' over and over again, and the feedback loop warps their minds - pornsick, if you will. There also has to be a certain lack of self-awareness, as the percentage of men that will ever pass is laughably low, so the reality is they will never actually be seen by anyone as women.

It's more about that perception that they do. That probably is a part of it, regardless of whether it's accurate.

I'm observing that lack of self-awareness. Someone said she passes for female most of the time, but when I later got to see a picture, it was so obvious that that can't be the case. I'm not sure if that's the norm, though. A lot of them fear getting ghosted after the other person sees their picture, so there's got to be some kind of awareness there.

Couldn't passing be relative too?
