I think all subs should be shown. We work like Reddit but on a design when reddit already had millions of users, at first there was just one feed, one sub. We don't have that so obviously it makes sense to browse s/all exclusively. That means any sub hidden from that gets ignored. We already have the capability (thanks D3) to ignore any subs we want to. So, I think it's logical all subs should be, by default, shown by all and that's what all users should see by default. They can opt out of the ones they want.

I agree. It's how it started. But they changed it. Also, just because new users' auto-default used to include all subs, the older users weren't being auto-added, so it was a manual chore to keep adding the dozen or more new subs every week. Now it's much less, but they still need to be added manually.
