A perfume/dye free detergent and a second rinse might be a better option. It's a cheaper up front cost anyway.

I do power rinses on all of my cycles, and sometimes even another quick rinse on cold if it seems suspicious coming out (that weird astringent texture, or well.. if I forgot about it for several hours). I should probably use the dye/scent free stuff though, there's just something nice about the "clean laundry" smell when it's lingering just a little on clothes and linens.
