I'm glad you still believe in God even after such broken events. Most of Christendom has got the concept of God and Jesus Christ almost entirely wrong. We've been led to believe that God is in heaven—a distant place—and that we must beg through prayers to be on his good side. And if ours prayers aren't answered, we assume he doesn't want it for us. God is not far off, he is near. Even nearness implies separation, because he is us(2 Corinth 13:5). Your consciousness/awareness is God. God became man(limitations) so that man may become God. The reason for this is because of a Promise mentioned in the Bible.

While we're here in this hell called earth/humanity, there is also a Law that governs all things in your world. It is the reason for the cause and effect of everything. If you understand its workings, You can use it to live the most comfortable life. The essence of it is: 1. Imagination with feeling and faith creates reality 2. Assumptions though false if persisted in, will harden into facts.

If you persist in imagining yourself homeless and broke, it will be given to you. If your bank says that they will take away your house and you put your trust/faith in the bank and it will be given to you. So, If you can imagine living comfortably and wealthy with faith that God answers your prayers, then it will be given to you. If you want money, when you imagine it, condition it with feeling. They're are a thousand good or bad ways people get money, so condition it with the feeling/mood of integrity.

This imaginal activity is the real definition of prayer, but imagine FROM the premise of the desire fulfilled and not of it(Mark 11:24). So assume you no longer have a threshold with money and that your family and friends are now in good understanding(Philippians 4:8).

The greatest book ever written is the Bible. People read it in a historical perspective when it is about present.

Neville Goddard used to explain the Bible's original intention through his books and lectures all of which are free and public domain. I'd recommend first reading At your Command 1939 https://archive.org/details/NevilleGoddardWorkbooks/1939_at_your_command/
