SaidIt does not directly support Tor, we have no onion address. Also if any civil disobedience was grey area, it would likely clash with the content policy. Maybe start your own site, with this code or another.

Federation is the answer but it's not here yet for reddits.

I'm starting to believe this is the way forwards, maybe different platforms and front ends, with the same userbase/DB. Something like LBRY and Odysee, how a new front end, with new features could be built but using the same content. If someone wanted to join the federation of saidit and notabug, ie get access through and API or even better access to the GunDB peer server...would this be possible?

yes, notabug would probably be stoked to have a new site join their decentralized gunDb network. it's very free speech oriented too. saidit/reddit just has the same old API as ever.

(notabug added a special content importer for saidit content, it's a one way sync but it can grab content from any saidit/reddit.)

Didn't know that about notabug. That is great news. I've been saying the reddit model needed to federalized since mastodon first happened. This is the first time I've heard someone was actually finally moving in that direction.

Still a very long ways to go though. Probably needs a whole new platform software to be developed from the ground up like gnu social.

you might also want to check out lemmy and lotide who are working on federated reddit.

Yes, their overt politics is kinda cringe, but they got a grant to finish the dang thing asap. I'm hopeful about it.

yea.. but main mastodon ain't much better...

as long as it works the same way I don't care if they use it for censorship for their own little enclaves as long as it allows for freedom for the rest of us who choose it. That was the original design of the reddit/slashdot/digg model. To allow the individual to make those decisions, not the organization.

Amen man, power to the people right on.
