Years ago I had lost a cat and was a bit upset about it. I went to visit my mother interstate, and unbeknown to me at that time she was looking afher 4 kittens. They were about 3-4 weeks old. I did not spend much time with the kittens because I was too sad given I'd just lost one of my cats. I did like a little white male kitten, and if I was going to pick one to keep I would have chosen that one.

As I was leaving to drive back home, she came running out yelling I'd forgotten something. I wound down the window and she deposited the little orange kitten into my lap then ran back inside, slammed the door and locked me out. I tried to get her to take him back, but without success. For some reason I decided to keep him.

He was the best cat I ever had, and I had him for about 14 years I think. He died last year in June of complications from FIV. I was pretty devastated, thought I would never get another. I'd just be happy with my other cat (who is 16).

In November my mother's neighbours had kittens so she bought them over to me, even though I told her not to. I now have a new cat.
