A certain family member keeps leaving food outside for the cats, ones that need a home seem to know where to go

Max, my now deceased goofy-cat showed up crying at my door one very cold day in March looking for a new place to live.

My daughter had a tiny chiweenie that devastatingly got ran over right in front of us, she was heartbroken. Hoping to cheer her up my sis and I chipped in to buy her a shih Tzu. A few years later she sadly asks me if I would take her, as her husband was pretty abusive to the little doggy, she couldn't take it. Gladly took her, have had the little dear almost 2 years now. I took her even though I already had a rat terrier going on 14 years and so very glad I did, because sadly my rat terrier passed away and the little shih Tzu made the pain from that loss a little less heartbreaking. The little white fur ball pretty much rules the roost here.

18 years ago my brother was mowing, and found a little baby kitten. He asked me to take it and I said no. Then he called me and held out the phone so I could hear it crying (he had to keep it in the basement because he had dogs.) So I've had her ever since.

10 years ago I was driving to a neighbors graduation party and saw a puppy running down the highway. We turned around and went back to help it. Four other cars had pulled over on the highway to try to help it too. A highway patrol passed all of us idiots on the side of the highway, and pulled over the block the lane next to the shoulder so we didn't get hit. I chased the "puppy" (turned out to be an 8 year old pom) down in to the weeds, and one of the men helping started yelling "GRAB HIM! GRAB HIM!" So I reached out and snatched him by the scruff of the neck. He turned and made a biting motion towards my arm, but never bit. The cop gave me and the dog a ride home, and the dog slept on my lap the whole way. And I've had him ever since.

Last year my husband left the garage door open when he went to work. I went out to take the kid to school, and a little bitty kitty came running up so happy to see us, just meowing away. I chucked him in the fence and drove off. When I got home he came running up to the car and was about to run under it. I realized he was going to be too dumb to live, and needed help, so we've had him for about a year now.

Years ago I had lost a cat and was a bit upset about it. I went to visit my mother interstate, and unbeknown to me at that time she was looking afher 4 kittens. They were about 3-4 weeks old. I did not spend much time with the kittens because I was too sad given I'd just lost one of my cats. I did like a little white male kitten, and if I was going to pick one to keep I would have chosen that one.

As I was leaving to drive back home, she came running out yelling I'd forgotten something. I wound down the window and she deposited the little orange kitten into my lap then ran back inside, slammed the door and locked me out. I tried to get her to take him back, but without success. For some reason I decided to keep him.

He was the best cat I ever had, and I had him for about 14 years I think. He died last year in June of complications from FIV. I was pretty devastated, thought I would never get another. I'd just be happy with my other cat (who is 16).

In November my mother's neighbours had kittens so she bought them over to me, even though I told her not to. I now have a new cat.
