I don't expect a collapse. China isn't suicidal enough to wage a direct battle. Trump getting reelected isn't going to cause a civil war.

It's after Trump that worries me. The republicans have no one to replace him with. Even those who have passable qualifications currently lack the political notoriety to stand a chance. The democrats have gone batshit insane trying to go with Biden, who won't be capable of running when Trump ends his second term.

With that time period of uncertainty crazy Elon Musk says his Neuralink prototypes will have massive amounts of human data they can use to upgrade their prototype.

Technology will be the factor that determines what happens next. If Facebook,Twitter, and YouTube continue censoring people, then there is the possibility the government will respond with knee jerk reactions in self defense when rioters start to increase in number.

Even if a cure for the beer flu is created, there won't be a complete eradication for another decade (if at all.) This puts elderly politicians and the upper class at risk. Massive shifts in wealth to those unfamiliar with the nuances needed in moving it could result in economic mistakes of epic proportions.

Technology, disease, political uncertainty, and economic instability. These things all collide in 2026, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. If America begins to collapse too rapidly there is a possibility war against china could be initiated in an effort to reunify the country. I doubt it, but there remains the possibility. I can't see the future. All I know is that there are things outside of governmental control ending up in the hands of normal citizens. This never ends well. The creation of the first printing press started revolutions around the world. Then there was the internet. Then phones. Then social media. If Elon gets a consumer Neuralink device to the public that does 1/5th of everything he's claiming, for less than $3k, we should expect another world war.

Uh....wat?

Imagine a device that can detect electrical impulses in the brain, non-stop, even while you sleep, and be very precise. It knows when you're happy, sad, angry, and more. You can even use it to control your mouse or xbox controller. In theory, it could even read the muscle movements to your limbs, before they even move, because the signal originally starts in the brain.

Now imagine that with enough data collected this device can send electrical signals into the brain to induce some of the things described.

Some people in wheelchairs could walk again thanks to this device. Telepathy sounds like science fiction until you realize that auto correcting text is already present in phones. Doing the same to brain signals isn't as hard as it sounds if you have access to the raw data and a speedy computer.

It's not magic, but it gets pretty damn close. "In theory", a user would be able to access the internet with a thought. Augmented reality glasses created by Apple will be on the market in 2022 to act as the computer screen.

If everything goes according to plan people with the chip would be able to think faster, react faster, think of a question and instantly know the answer, be able to read another chip users emotions, possibly have telepathy with crappy phone-level auto-correct, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The reason I think it could cause a war is that those with the implant would be superior to a human without one. A massive population of people could suddenly become politically aware. Become math experts. Suddenly know how organic chemistry works.

How many people do you know without a cell phone? Almost everybody has a cell phone these days. This "Neuralink" thing could become the next cell phone, computer, video game console, and netflix all rolled into one. Walk into a clinic, the machine takes 20 minutes, and there's barely a scar behind one of your ears easily hidden with the right haircut.

The device is theoretically possible. Elon has a working prototype installed in a monkey. It's still 6 or more years away before normal people get it. Maybe another 10 or 20 years before computers advance enough to process the new influx of data.

Sounds like something straight out of a science fiction novel.

It is coming, yes, and we will all get it, just like we all got cell phones although many swore they wouldn't. I don't see war, I see people getting even more addicted, lazy, and socially isolated.

[–]AnarchySpeach 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

socially isolated.

I disagree with that last part. The ability to have a forced empathetic response during a conversation would change how chip users socialize. It'd be an optional app like on a phone, but it's totally possible that peer pressure could bring it into the mainstream. Lacking a twitter and facebook makes someone a "freak" if you ask most of the younger generation. A social app that deals with emotions could be mandatory in a similar fashion.

I guess we won't know until it's here...there are things coming we cannot even imagine. I for one am waiting for a app that can make you instantly high via neural connection, for example you dial in 70% alcohol effect, 20% cocaine, and 10% LSD, and set the timer for x hours. Then when it turns off, you are instantly sober, and can go to work...oh, who am I fooling, it would mean the end of civilization.

[–]AnarchySpeach 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

The alcohol part might be difficult or impossible without external chemical ingestion. Cocaine could be "simulated" for several minutes, but I doubt it would last very long before becoming extremely dangerous. Natural cocaine might even be safer. LSD... maybe? idk about that one. That's a lot of complex stuff going on at once. Mixing all 3 into a brain chip might be impossible in our lifetime.

If the Jew can make money off it, you can bet it will be invented.

If you read sci-fi, Larry Niven created particularly excellent stories, many of which explore the "wirehead" propblem.

God, I can't wait! Getting drunk after age 45 sucks, the hangovers are brutal.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

n-acetyl-cysteine with selenium. Take before drinking.

[–]StBlops2cel_is_Lord 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

But I do a lot of stupid shit when I drink, so, I'm better off being sober.

[–]Jesus 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Neurolink will eventually be marketed.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Agreed. Also, the "implant thoughs" technology already exists and has already been perfected. Black budget tech was already working on that in the 1950s, well... Starting with the READING of brain states, then "thoughts".

Bill Gates' cryptocurrency mining chip is based on "something" that can know precisely what you are doing at any given microsecond. Imagine a world where your pay is docked for the half-second you spent scratching your nose rather than typing the article that's due in 2 hours. But READING isn't the end of it. The tech exists to WRITE states to a brain, and without implants too.

It will have some funny implications.

"Sorry I missed your call. I forgot my phone at home."

"Then what's that on your ear?"

It's after Trump that worries me.

Yes, true. But it is largely a contrived, demoralized effort. There is much wrong with the ZioCOn and criminal Trump but so much could be said about Obama, Bush, Clinton and the many presidents before him. We went through a Civil war and the radical usurious republicans won. It must of felt like the apocalypse then too.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

must HAVE felt. Jesus, something's wrong with your brain my dude.

[–]Jesus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No spellcheck, little time.

[–]AnarchySpeach 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

His chip missed an update. Don't worry. It will be fixed shortly.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Oh and don't worry about after Trump: Bill Gates' cybernetic singularity will take over. FOREVER.
