I have witnessed the culture surrounding remote work change dramatically in my industry. People at all levels now cannot deny how beneficial it is. I see a future where we are finally free from the "butt in chair" mentality.

I actually kind of dread that tbh. I love leaving my work at the office, having a space just for work and a space just for not work. I don't want to be 100% reachable at all times.

Yeah, I agree there are some new challenges that come with it but it's all quite manageable imo. I make a point to log off the company network when the day is done and I don't give out my cell number to anyone I work with unless it is for non-work reasons. Overall, I am probably reachable about 40% of the time in a 24-hr period. There are definitely moments when it can be hard to turn off working mode though.

The ideal situation would be if we all had the freedom to choose.
