Seeing alternative possibilities?

"In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, in the expert's mind there are few."

(edit: I got that quote from the Wikipedia page for 'Shoshin' :

"Shoshin (初心) is a word from Zen Buddhism meaning "beginner's mind." It refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when studying a subject, even when studying at an advanced level, just as a beginner would. The term is especially used in the study of Zen Buddhism and Japanese martial arts.[citation needed]

The phrase is also discussed in the book Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki, a Zen teacher. Suzuki outlines the framework behind shoshin, noting "in the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, in the expert's mind there are few.")

Enjoying life. When I was a kid things were pretty simple. Now I can't experience anything without trying to imagine it from multiple points of view, which spoils everything.

I find the opposite. Something simple like walk in a green space is so much more enjoyable now that when I was a kid because everything has so many more layers of information, meaning and connections.

Sounds like you are dissociating, try a bit of mindfulness.

Trusting the media and government.

I've been grinding Street Fighter ranked mode lately, and after the 50th time I get hit by Zangief's spinning piledriver or Ken's EX Shoryuken when I thought I was safe, I'm beginning to think my answer might be "competitive gaming."

It's only because when you win it's entirely pure skill, and win they win it's because of bullshit and they are probably hacking, they don't even know your uncle owns Nintendo and they'll be banned.

"No! You can't just find the holes in my fake pressure! You're supposed to stand there blocking until I throw you! NOOO!"

You only lost because you were letting your little brother play. He doesn't even have arms and is blind so that's the only reason they won anyway. It was just a warm up match anyway.

Giving a fuck.

A woman is born with every fuck she is ever going to give and will slowly lose them over the course of her life.

Once she has run out of fucks to give there is currently no method of producing more.

(I stole this)
