Great advice. Not sure about the learn to code bit. And of course this was more of a /s/TellSaidit

Let me try and explain why learn to code (at least my perspective). If it's true that there is a pattern of information technologies connecting humans more and more - storytelling -> writing -> books -> printing press/newspaper -> telephone/radio -> TV -> Internet -> ??? ... Then programming might be a new paradigm just like reading/writing and grammar were back in the day when books started to become popular during the middle ages (not sure of exact date, but there was some point that everyone went from illiteracy to literacy).

I see, good point. Like being able to manipulate and chart data in excel, or start your own blog. And coding teaches critical thinking, but I'd rather see critical thinking on the list.

Prioritizing information. We are swimming in information more than ever, and what you focus on depends on what you prioritize. How do you choose what to prioritize?

I think this is a key concept a lot of people never take very seriously, but it's becoming more important than ever.

That's a great point. More people nowadays suffer from too much information rather than too little.

Not to go all doomsday but we really need the /s/survival sub on here. Lots of great lessons just in case self-sustenance is necessary

Edit: It exists!

I'll have to subscribe to that, thanks!

All of this excepting the last line is good advice. In the current situation learning gardening, first aid, or small engine repair is a better use of time.

That said, you left off the most important bit of all.

Get armed. Common caliber and model guns are best. A 9 mm sidearm and an AR-15 if you are in the US. You should aim to eventually have 2000 rounds for each. You'll probably want at least 4-5 mags for the 9 mm and 7+ for the AR.

The most common decent quality 9 mm's in the US are Smith and Wesson M&P, and Glock.

AR is a platform, not a brand (if you're not a gun person). For the most part the manufacturer of the AR really doesn't matter, because they all use a common base of parts. A Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport can be had for under $500 with a sale.

Law and order breaks down in times of civil unrest and social instability. You want to be self-sufficient, which means ensuring both you and your family are not defenseless against those that wish you harm.

If you're on a very tight budget even a low quality Hi-Point 9 mm with a few hundred rounds of ammo and a couple of spare clips is vastly superior to being at mercy of any person or group of people that are physically stronger.

I assume you live in the US. If TSHTF in an urban environment, are more guns going to help? I would say the world needs less guns, not more. Be the change.

Can you see how this runs counter to the rest of the advice. i.e. get friendly with the neighbours, plant seeds but arm yourself just in case?... Let's hope you're wrong on this!

If you don't want to be under the thumb of anyone who else who is either armed, or physically stronger, or outnumbers you; then yes - they are required.

I would say the world needs less guns, not more. Be the change.

The only thing that holds civilization together is violence / men willing to die to enforce the structure they believe in. Without it the biggest guy in the room was is able to do what he wants. After all, anyone who doesn't like it can be summarily beat to death. Local leaders might have more armed men, that would come kill him for this action later / maybe not. Guns are a force equalizer that allow a 110 lb 5'2" woman to tell a 6'9" 220 lb man no.

Can you see how this runs counter to the rest of the advice. i.e. get friendly with the neighbours, plant seeds but arm yourself just in case?...

Your neighbors need to be armed too. Ideally you can work out a mutual defense plan with them. When an angry anti-White mob shows up, ready to rape/murder/destroy, you don't want to be dependent upon out-numbering them.

Let's hope you're wrong on this!

Look at the history of Haiti, and more recently Rhodesia and South Africa. I'm not.

The degree also could be medicine, psychology, or both (psychiatry). Otherwise, i think this is an excellent selection of advice.

Medicine is included in STEM. I'm not sure about psychology though. I've heard there's a massive overload in people with that degree, and not enough demand. Very few people who graduate with it end up getting a job in the field. I know a few myself.

In my country its hard to get settled as a psychologist AFTER you financed your studies, because you need to invest a lot of money and time again. So we got a lack of people filling this role.

Watch your back, watch the backs of the people you love and make sure you have people who watch out for yours. This is similar to getting families and friends and an understanding that there are loads of people out there who just want to mess your shit up.

Skill up. I'm going back to school Jan 2021 to learn to be an electrician, how useful would that be? In all but the worst SHTF situations.

Meditate. I love the Waking Up app, https://share.wakingup.com/06adb0 - this referal gives a month free. How do we cleanse all the bullshit? Meditation, that's how.

Get away from social media and stop giving money to people who hate you.

I suspect that outside of certain third world countries having kids will potentially fuck up your life way more than any student debt could.

Black Is The New White: http://www.unwelcomeguests.net/750 - i.e. The extent of the deliberate deception by TPTB is hard but important to fathom This is less of a problem for youngsters who grew up with new media. For most of us who grew up with TV, Newspapers, who can remember the Cold War, it's still a big issue. So to the list I would add:
