I get plenty of sleep but my circadian rhythm moves around a lot, I rarely fall asleep at the same time of day

Most people are, but some aren't, and that way the tribe is protected at all hours because someone is always awake at least.

for me, mozzies are the worst, but i will have an afternoon nap now and then. when it's completely out of whack i drink a chamomille, st johns wort and valerian tea blend. lavander and other essential oils also work.

i avoid caffeine, late and heavy dinners and use the color temperature adjuster on the laptop.

I think the orientation of your body might benefit from a change. When I am having trouble, I lay either 90° or 180° (sideways on the bed or head at the foot) and it usually helps.
