Ah well, I did listen to the 6-part podcast series of The Last Podcast On The Left the last couple of weeks about Mormonism and although they have different branches with different beliefs and calling each-other 'worse than heresy' the main points of a cult are still checked. But that's the most deepest dive I've ever done into it.

It certainly beats Scientology and the Mormon story is somehow more believable, no sarcasm.

Yeah I believe that. I only know the name, the bunker fame, and something mass weddings, korea, and the church does have at least one Dutch chapter.

Maybe post it as a reply to the original post, so others can see it too, now it's a bit tucked away in this reply thread.

I think a cult smile is a commercial smile only you're not filming a commercial and it's hard/impossible to see it break. Like a normal person when happy might smile a bit, but even when happy, you don't smile the whole time, you're just happy.

It's different from the polite smile you get from a hotel receptionist or something, it's a forced smile trained to look not forced reaching the uncanny valley of a truly soulless smile because it's not their job, it's their life.

What if I told you all three were linked inexorably by the same original set of beliefs - and same end goal?

              Scamming and clapping cheeks?
