When sexpats like serpentza talk about "The Golden Age" or the Good old times in China, they are talking about how China was like around 10 years ago. There was a lot more freedom in the sense that it was much easier to do mass bribery for teachers, doctors, government officials, etc, easier to get an "english teaching" job just for having a white or black face, easier to deal drugs or do other crimes such as prostitution, etc.

In the video he even mentioned there used to hotels full of prostitutes that you can just pick and chose, and the brothel owners would bribe the police to look away. Which China has now cracked down on. (Xi Jinping's anti corruption acts played a huge role in this)

The fake teachers scam where they hire white looking Eastern European English teachers that can't even speak English has also been cracked down on now.

China in the present days has cracked down very hard on all those areas, especially during the pandemic. Which is why so many of these LBHs are now fleeing towards much easier to exploit asian countries like in SEA. Most of the immigrants in Guangzhou (as you may have recalled that crisis in earlier days) that ripped up their home passports in order to stay illegally, ended up being expelled.

Furthermore, the Native Chinese are now a lot more taller, richer, and well off in general, especially in the Northern areas. Not to mention the Kpop/ Kdrama effect that has now started a new worldwide interest in AM, especially in Asia. The exact opposite is happening now where more and more Eastern European and other women are immigrating in and marrying Chinese men, even if they are farmers or those from the countryside. Pakistani (Indo-Aryan) women are now also more and more marrying Chinese men

Foreigner worship has drastically decreased, and native chinese especially the younger generations are now much more patriotic and proud of their heritage. This combined with increasing social stigma on Western expats due to their behavior and now much higher covid cases has caused a much harsher competition for LBHs to get the local women (also the crackdown on crime now makes it even harder for them to exploit young children of course, lots of sexpats end up being pedos as well).
