The Korean show “Squid Game” uses an all Asian American cast for the English dub. Should Netflix have only used ethnically Korean people to voice these characters? Or are you fine with other Asians voicing them? Where should we draw the line? by machinavelli in aznidentity

[–]deseq [score hidden] an hour ago Asian-americans are probably more underrepresented than asians though, so I don' think it matters. Asian-american representation is the exception rather than the rule when it comes to asian representation. We are more underrepresented not less, even though neither are well-represented.

Again, who is "wE" you (((beaknose))) fucker?

In an unprecedented moment, Kim Janey endorses Michelle Wu for Boston mayor by deseq in aznidentity

[–]deseq[S] [score hidden] an hour ago I supported Janey in the past, but I realized we need to support AAPI candidates at all levels, representation for the sake of representation is important. Wu will probably win but we see how Yang was treated by asian activists and how that contributed to his loss, putting down an asian candidate because of differences in policies is not good. She has, to my awareness, begun connecting with the local AAPI community and has been receptive to concerns about admissions. And to me, changing her last name back is certainly better than not and suggests at least a basic cognizance that she needs to win the trust of the asian community, and will therefore work to that end more so than other non-asian candidates. I don't support Wu per se, but I support asian political representation, s long as you are not actively promoting anti-asian hate or negative representation, like that asian politician who advocated for the Chinese exclusion act.

Everytime this F@gg0t logs in, (((subversion)))/mental-sodomization happens.
