why does the asian community and its activists spend more time fighting itself than fighting against anti-asian racism? by deseq in aznidentity

[–]deseq[S] [score hidden] an hour ago nothing wrong for me with asian women dating whites. i support all types of interracial relationships. i'm complaining about the asians on twitter and other social media who keep on trying to cause conflicts with fellow asian men and asian women instead of doing advocacy. like recently they've been putting down asian celebrities for no reason, and not saying anything about anti-asian racism.

None of the high profile asian activists currently calling out Simu Liu, Justin Chon, Awkwafina, Andrew Yang, and Nina Lin said a thing when Charlyne Yi tried to speak out against predatory behavior and sexual misconduct by James Franco and Seth Rogen by deseq in aznidentity

[–]deseq[S] [score hidden] 2 hours ago It's not "anti-black" to criticize their consistent refusal to call out white men in positions of power and privilege. It's not "misogynistic" to criticize their consistent refusal to defend many asian women, of which Charlyne is just one example, from the worst types of sexual violence. What's disturbing is that there are so many other examples of asians, asian women, who have been victimized by high profile individuals, but who our activists refuse to call out. Any concerns about Simu Liu, Chon, Nora Lum, Andrew Yang, or Nina Lin may be legitimate. I am not trying to excuse whatever issue somebody has with one of them. But why is it that I feel that asian activists are always focusing nearly 100% of their energy on criticizing every little issue of some other asian figure? What energy have they spent on speaking up against mistreatment of asians by others? very little! They have a zero tolerance policy for those in the group, while give all the benefit of the doubt to those outside. This is the exact opposite of what should be the case. This is not pro-asian activism by a far stretch. The activists have gotten one thing right though. When they say we asians ride the coattails of black and BIPOC activism, they are actually right. because the only progress we've made as asians in this country has been riding the coattails of other groups' activism against white supremacy. our "activists" themselves are the ones to blame though, because they have done jackshit to challenge the status quo, besides mirror the dominant trendy activism of the time and shove it down our throats. we'd better be thankful that black people and other groups actually did the hard work of challenging white supremacy, and at least we (somewhat but not totally) made it into the BIPOC minority checkbox and extracted some benefits. but that activism will never be enough because, because asians were never part of the drawing board, and it's why we always feel completely estranged from the progressive movements of our time. edit: there are a few good asian activists, some who truly care, but i'm talking about the high profile ones who exert the most influence in our community, especially career activists, because what they say tends to reverberate. their leadership is poor and lacking. in fact, they never were leaders, what was the last big one besides #StopAsianHate which was primarily spearheaded by major celebrities? We have too few leaders, and too many followers.

'noThiN WrOnG wiTh pmaf'. 'Be ThaNkFUL to fucking blks'. 'yoU ASiaNs HaVe iSsuEs'. Just goes to show how fucked in the brain ai really is, allowing this Beaknose NON-ASIAN F@GGOT to sodomize them daily with his (((subversion))).
